Northlakes seems to have it all, situated 25km North of Brisbane CBD, and a 15 minute drive from the beautiful Redcliffe Beach

This up and coming large suberb, has been purpose built to accommodate the needs of people wanting the suberban life, yet within an easy commute of the city

With a large Westfiled shopping centre hosting all the major outlets, and many smaller quaint shops and boutiques – this is a great place to shop!

Nice resteraunts, cafes and even a pub compliment this centre, with nearby facilities including three schools, public swimming pool, library, police and fire station

This suberb includes and abundance of parklands, and currently houses 8,000 people with 25,000 projected by the end of the development

This would be a nice area to build a home and with land starting from as little as $142,000 you could create an excellent start in Australia

Watching the news last night, I was delighted to see more good news from Australia, we are the fastest growing economy in the Westhern World. I found this article people may be interested in… its good news!

Australia’s economy ended 2009 at its fastest pace in 18 months, as government stimulus boosted economic growth during the December quarter, economists say.

But the start of resource projects would lift the economic expansion during 2010 and place pressure on interest rates as the year progressed, they say.

Australian real gross domestic product (GDP) rose by a seasonally adjusted 0.9 per cent in the December quarter, up from an upwardly revised 0.3 per cent in the previous quarter, the Australian Bureau of Statistics said on Wednesday.

While the quarterly expansion was in line with market consensus, revisions to previous quarters lifted the annual rate to 2.7 per cent, above the latest median forecast of economists of 2.4 per cent.

It was the fastest annual rate of economic growth since the June quarter in 2008 and above the central bank’s forecast of 2.0 per cent reported in February.

Treasurer Wayne Swan said the local economy had proved to be resilient, with most other advanced nations experienced recessions during 2009.

“To have grown the economy in what has been one of the toughest years since the 1930s is a truly remarkable feat and the stimulus is providing a firm foundation for the economy,” Mr Swan said.

RBC Capital Markets senior economist Su-Lin Ong said the local economy was moving at an adequate pace, supported by federal government stimulus.

The key drivers of activity in the quarter were business investment, partly reflecting tax breaks for small businesses, which contributed 0.8 percentage points to activity, and public investment, largely the spending on schools, which contributed another 0.6 percentage points, Ms Ong said.

“However, private consumption managed to post another decent increase (0.7 per cent) and dwelling activity also rose modestly (0.1 per cent),” she said.

AMP Capital Investors Bob Cunneen said the December figures confirmed Australia had experienced a mild downturn in 2009 compared to other advanced economies.

“Essentially the impact of the global financial crisis proved to be just a flesh wound on Australia’s national activity terms apart from the brief 0.9 per cent GDP contraction in the final quarter of 2008,” Mr Cunneen said.

Commonwealth Bank chief economist Michael Blythe said fiscal stimulus had underpinned the economy during 2009 while the private sector was recovering by year-end.

“Public spending grew by 7.4 per cent through 2009 and contributed 1.7 percentage points to GDP growth,” Mr Blythe said.

“An emerging momentum in private activity – an essential component of ongoing recovery in 2010 – is also evident.

“Private spending rose at an annualised pace of 3.9 per cent in the second half of 2009 after stalling at a 0.4 per cent per annum rate in the first half.”

Australia’s terms of trade were likely to accelerate in 2010 and 2011 as commodity markets improved, particularly for the nation’s two largest exports – coal and iron ore, Ms Ong said.

The terms of trade represent the relationship between the prices of exports and imports and rose 2.9 per cent in the December quarter, the ABS said.

“This will drive burgeoning business investment, national incomes, and spending taking growth back to trend (3.25 per cent), if not higher this year, with activity stepping up to 3.75 per cent in 2011,” she said.

Mr Blythe said the GDP data reaffirmed the Reserve Bank of Australia’s decision to lift the cash interest rate by 25 basis points to 4.0 per cent on Tuesday.

“If anything, fourth quarter growth at 0.9 per cent implies the economy is normalising at a faster pace than envisaged by RBA forecasts in the February Statement on Monetary Policy,” he said.

Mr Blythe expects the RBA to lift the cash rate to 5.0 per cent by the end of 2010.

Tessa and her family went to the Sunshine Plaza, late night shopping last night.

I bought Madi a beautiful dress for my 40th in MYER, then we met our ex-Japanese student Kumi and had dinner together at the beautiful Turkish resteraunt I love.

MYER is a similar store to Debenhams in the UK, its one of the largest department stores aswell as David Jones.

Many of the stores have ’specials’ and I got abragain with 20% off the dress for Madi.
