Situated seven kilometers west of Brisbane’s CBD is the wonderful suburb of Indooroopilly. Also called Indro, the name of the place is a combination of two aboriginal words nyindurupilli and yindurupilly. The former means gully of leaches while the latter, gully of running water. The original inhabitants of the suburb are the Turrbal and Jagera aboriginal groups. |
