The residential suburb of Redcliffe is the perfect destination for anyone who wishes to escape from the urbanised city atmosphere. Located in the Moreton Bay Region, the suburb is without doubt a great place to spend the holidays especially with some great attractions in it. What’s more is that it is only seventeen miles northeast of Brisbane which is Queensland’s capital.

Its name was derived from Red Cliff Point which was a name given by John Oxley the explorer. In 1824, it became the very first European colony of Queensland. Ever since it was established, the place has been a well known location for seaside resorts because of its closeness to the capital city. The Hornibrook Bridge provides easy access for anyone who wants to go to Redcliffe from Brisbane by car.

Redcliffe features great attractions such as the Cove Lagoon Settlement, Redcliffe Jetty, Botanic Gardens, Redclifee Museum, Suttons Beach, and Redcliffe Showgrounds. This recreational paradise always has something for you to do especially with the list of attractions above. If you are up to for some fun and adventure, you can experience the thrilling feeling on a parachute jump while landing on the beach or simple take a flight over the bay through hot air balloons.

You can also cruise, kayak or sail at Moreton Bay and if you are visiting during the months of June to November you might be lucky to witness the amazing migration of humpback whales. If you really love the water you can go swimming in the lagoon at Settlement Cove which also serves as a great aquatic playground.

If you have a passion for art, feel free to visit the Radcliffe Museum and some galleries in the suburb where you can shop around or simply look at antiques, crafts and artworks, and even collectables and souvenirs. When you are done exploring such places you can relax and take a breezy walk on the beach or at the Hornibrook Highway bridge where you can also enjoy picturesque bikeways.

Do not worry about finding a place to stay when in Redcliffe because there are a lot of great accommodations set for all kinds of visitors. You can choose to be at luxurious guest houses, high end motels, classy apartments, charming cottages, and affordable inns or bed and breakfasts.

Moreover, you will have no problem finding a place to eat and drink at Redcliffe since it has some delectable seafood markets. The Morgan seafood market is among the most desirable dining establishment in the suburb. You can also try out the Belvedere Steak and Crabhouse and the Golden Ox Restaurant. Whatever dish you want, Redcliffe has restaurant that can offer them to you.

Redcliffe may be a typical Brisbane suburb but what sets it apart is the wonderful relaixing aura that it gives to its locals and tourists.
