When travelling to the south from the suburb of St. Kilda you will reach another equally amazing suburb – Brighton. It is best known for its stunning beach huts that never seize to captivate anyone who visits it. However, the area maybe all about the beach but there are no further developments on them for catering to tourists because it has become an exclusive abode. This picturesque bay side suburb became a prominent place ever since the 1860’s when Victorians frequent the place for day trips. Through the years, Brighton has evolved into a great inner residential suburb and it is where some of Melbourne’s richest citizens live.

Brighton is without doubt a wonderful place to visit and live at. Many residents simply love the area because of its calm atmosphere and hospitable people. This is a place where visitors and local meet at the beach not just to take a dip on its cool waters but to enjoy the view of the sand and sky as well as colorful huts. Apart from the beach, tourists can go to other aquatic attractions such as the Middle Brighton Municipal Baths, Middle Brighton Pier and Breakwater, and the Royal Brighton Yacht Club.

Apart from beach, visitors can head to other attractions here. One of which is the North Road where historic residences and churches abound. In the same street is the Pavilion which is a famous café that overlooks the Port Phillip Bay. Here you can even enjoy beach front views of Melbourne’s skyline while sipping a cup of coffee or chatting with a friend.

Brighton is all about relaxation and peace which is why many wealthy people choose to build mansions here. In this suburb, they can simply let go of their worries while enjoying its wonderful views and taking advantage of its simple pleasure and leisure amenities. Visitors and locals alike can enjoy walking and cycling on its great Bay Trail which follows the Brighton coastline.

The suburb is serviced by various railway stations including North and Middle Brighton, Brighton Beach, and Gardenvale on the Sandringham Line. Getting here is fairly easy especially when you depart from Flinders Street Station which will get to Brighton in just twenty minute.

Vacationers in Brighton’s have only a few options for accommodations. There are no bed and breakfasts here or motels. The only good hotel in the place is the Brighton Beach Savoy which is opposite the beach. This hotel may be expensive but the amazing service comes with the price. Additionally, the suburb is not a typical beach spot where inflatable beach balls, umbrellas, and souvenir shops can be seen. The simplicity is well kept to maintain cleanliness and to promote a tranquil atmosphere for both locals and tourists.

Brighton also has an amazing shopping strip which is in Church Street. Tourists and locals frequently come to the place because of the amazing selection of delis, restaurants, boutiques, jewelry shops, and gift shops.

Given these great facts, Brighton indeed is Melbourne’s most livable suburb!
