Madora Bay is a suburb of Mandurah, on the Indian Ocean coast of Western Australia. The long white sand beach made it a popular ‘bach’ or holiday community for many years but in the last 20 years it has been developed as a residential area. Madora Bay is tidy, safe, and pleasant. You can buy a large family home for much less than in many parts of Australia. In 2008 the average house cost $530,000. There are now around 1000 permanent residents.

The  whole area around Mandurah has experienced rapid growth recently, and  this is expected to continue. Madora Bay still has a quiet seaside township feel. There are only two stores : a deli and a pub, but you will find anything you need close by at Mandurah. Madora bay does have an early childhood care centre. The nearest University is the Peel regional Campus of Murdoch University; and there is a Challenger TAFE in the same location, at nearby Greenfield . The nearest high school, Mandurah Senior College is also at Greenfield.

Many of the jobs available in the area are in construction, trades and mining. The new Boddington Gold Mine is about an hour’s drive, and is set to become one of the region’s biggest employers. Perth is also a commutable 60 kilometres north.  The trip takes 45 minutes on the new rail link and the nearest station, Lakelands, is only a few minutes from Madora Bay.
