The Hay Street and Murray Street Malls are probably the best known shopping precincts in Western Australia. They are pedestrian only areas and run parallel to each other for the length of a city block, between Barrack and William Streets. The malls are close to the central Perth train station as well as the state library, museum and art gallery. The main commercial area of St George Terrace is just an easy walk away.

Shoppers will find high-end Australian department store Myer in Forest Chase, Murray St; and David Jones in one of the several arcades connecting the two malls. In Hay St Mall you will find anything from books at Dymocks, to diamonds at Rosendorffs; fashion from Burberry and edgy shoes from Zu.    At the Forest Chase complex in Murray St Mall, you’ll find everything from home-ware and gifts, to high fashion and footwear at 40 stores including Levis, Cue, Witchery, Pumpkin Patch, and Laura Ashley.

After a hard morning shopping you might want to sit down and take in a matinee performance at His Majesty’s Theatre.  Just a few minutes away on the corner of Hay and King Streets; it’s the only working Edwardian theatre in Australia. This stunning Baroque style building is the home of the WA Opera and Ballet companies.
